Assignment Title: Nutrition Education Plan

 

Assignment Description: This assignment was the culmination of a semester of fieldwork. I was able to work with seniors at a retirement home and created a nutrition education plan. My goal for the nutrition educational plan was to incorporate the unique food customs and cultures of the residents in a forum to help diversify their ideas of food.

 

What I learned: I learned how to tailor education to a specific group. This assignment gave me practice on writing goals and specific objectives and following through to meet these goals and objectives.

Relevance to the profession: This assignment was intended to model in services that dietitians will hold for food service staff and other dietitians.

 

Relevance to the profession: Dietitians create education plans for many different populations. This assignment was relevant to the profession because it goes through the steps of understanding the needs of a group of people and then developing an education plan for them. Having practice in this skill will improve my ability to create effective nutrition plans.
