Assignment Title: Macronutrient and Disease Seminar

 

Assignment Description: This assignment was to study the effect of a macronutrient on a condition. My specific assignment was to study the use of glutamine in feedings for burn victims.

 

What I learned: I learned a great deal about enteral feeding methods. I also learned about how dietitians use evidence from studies and make decisions on implementing feeding practices in nutrition therapy.

 

Relevance to the profession: This assignment is relevant to the profession because dietitians require the ability to stay current on research to make sure they provide the most effective nutrition therapy.
